Frequently asked questions

How the agent handles customer replies, disputes, unmatched payments, and your rules. Looking for the payable side? See the AP questions →

How the agent works

What happens when a customer replies to the agent?

The agent reads the reply, answers questions it can answer with the right documents attached, pauses outreach when a payment is being worked out, and brings your team in when the reply crosses a policy boundary.

What is the difference between Copilot and Autopilot?

In Copilot mode the agent prepares every action and waits for your approval. In Autopilot mode the agent executes on its own within the policy limits you set, and escalates anything outside them. You can set the mode per workflow, per customer, or per dollar threshold.

When does a human get involved?

Whenever your policy says so, and whenever the agent can't decide. Replies that cross a policy boundary, disputes above your thresholds, and payments it can't match all escalate to your team with the context attached.

Your customers

Will the agent sound like us when it writes to customers?

Yes. Tone and cadence are part of the rules you set, per customer or per workflow. Messages go out in your voice, and in Copilot mode your team reviews every draft before it sends.

Do our customers have to use a portal?

No. Every follow-up message carries a payment link, so customers can pay without logging into anything. The self-service portal is there for customers who want to see every open invoice, pay, and ask questions in one place.

Payments & disputes

How does the agent handle payments that don't match an invoice?

It matches incoming payments to the right invoices, even the messy ones: a short payment, three invoices paid with one wire, a transfer with no remittance. Anything it can't match confidently gets escalated to your team instead of guessed at.

What if a customer disputes an invoice?

The agent captures the dispute, pauses follow-up on that invoice so the customer isn't dunned mid-conversation, and routes it by your rules: resolve it with documentation where policy allows, or bring your team in where it doesn't.

Getting started

How long does implementation take?

Standard implementation is included at no cost on supported accounting systems. Listra syncs two ways with your accounting system, bank, and CRM, so there is no re-keying and no parallel system to maintain.

Do we need a documented AR policy to start?

No. Most teams we work with don't have one. You describe the way your team would do it, in plain English: who to follow up with, when to pause, what needs sign-off. Listra runs those rules, and the audit trail becomes the documented policy you never had.

Systems & data

Which systems does Listra AR connect to?

Your accounting system, your bank, and your CRM, with two-way sync. The ledger and Listra stay identical, with no re-keying and no export-import loops.

What does the agent do with our customer data?

Your customer data is used to run your receivable and for nothing else. Every action the agent takes is logged with who, what, when, and under which policy, exportable for internal audit and external review.
